In order for me to use ASP on my computer for testing pages, I need this thing called PWS (Personal Web Server). I have no idea why, but Windows Millennium computers don't support PWS! Why is this?

I looked it up on the internet, and here's what I got:

http://billsway.com/notes_public/PWS_WinMe.txt
(This page gives a reference to a patch on the Microsoft Website.)

I also got:
http://www.dmxzone.com/ShowDetail.asp?NewsId=1735

Both pages give some information on how to configure PWS on Windows Me, but it's really complicated, and I have no idea of what I'm supposed to do. Can someone please post the exact instructions for what I really have to do? I just don't get this stuff. :(

OK, I understand what you're saying. Maybe it would be better if I asked specific questions rather than dismiss the whole thing. Let me begin by asking: in the txt file, it says:

Download the patch and implement per the instruction in this KB article.

This doesn't make sense. "Download the patch and implement per the instruction" doesn't make sense.

Is the patch I'm supposed to download MTSsetup.exe? And where do I install the file(s) this patch insalls -- in the same folder with the files installed by download.exe? And in what folder should I download download.exe and the files it installs? To make it simple, in what folder(s) on my computer does each and every thing go?

Next question: In number 3 of the txt file, it says to do a custom install of PWS. How do I do this? When I was installing PWS, it gives you two options (I think): maximum install or minimum install. How do I install only the Transaction Server component or whatever, and where should I put it?
