I just got my site up and running tonight and I would love to get any opinions from you all here. The URL is www.xboxoutpost.com, it should forward to www.xboxoutpost.com/wp domain forwarding through my host hasn't been implememnted yet but will be.
Your opinions please :).
Hi Blackshear -
Just wanted you to know that I'm not able to access either document in your post. You might want to check on that so you'll get some reviews from others.
Good Luck -

Yeah, I noticed that this morning, everything was fine last night. When I woke up and checked it I got some kind of "too many referring requests for this domain", and it wouldn't even let me log in to my FTP... now I see a godaddy parking page... I don't know what happened but I hope I didn't lose anything... I've been waiting for tech support to email me back for 4 hours...

Hi Blackshear -
Ouch! That background is a little intense. How about lightening it a little, so the pattern isn't so "in your face?"
I like how you've tied your site's design with the Xbox's, namely the green and black color scheme.
It may be my screen/browser settings, but I noticed a few things that need fixing:
- The "Content" header on the left is crammed into the box, and appears to be about 2 or 3px taller than the gray box containing it. You might want to add or check the padding there.
- The right-hand navigation area is REALLY close to the content, within 1 or 2px. You might pad this as well. Whitespace is never a bad thing.
- "Archives" is flush with the left border. (Similar problem as with "Content")
- The text in the poll is spaced kind of weird: the radio buttons are left-aligned, but their descriptive text is centered. The extra spacing caused by the centering of the text makes reading them/matching them up with the appropriate radio button a little hard.
The only other tip I'll give you is to streamline the amount of content that appears on your homepage. There's just too much there = lots of scrolling. You might try just listing headlines and link to the stories. Or, just make those accompanying images a lot smaller.
Good Luck!

Forget changing the color of the background, I'm not real fond of the pattern either.
