I need to take my web development (handcoding HTML, CSS, Javascript mostly) mobile. The obvious consideration is buying a laptop, but I want to consider something even more mobile. I am clueless as to how small I can go.

So here is my question: Are there any devices smaller than the average laptop that I can use to handcode my stuff and then run IE on it to see if it works? For example, are there palmtops/PDAs that allow you to text-edit a file and then run IE or FF on it to see the result? Of course I will need a way to port my stuff back to my desktop when done. Internet connectivity is not essential for this applicarion.

Thanks.

Well there's them tablet things isn't there? You can inflict them with XP so you can run IE on it. They're smaller than a laptop I think.

Opera has a "small screen" view that will replicate what you'd see on a PDA.
