There is a great option of modifiable (did I spell it right?) examples - when you learn, it's great to see on-screen what happens when you change the code yourself...

HTML goodies examples have a lot of errors. W3Schools, though have an odd error or two, are much better.

You are free to have your own opinion. But in general, if there is a suggestion from Eric Meyer and another from John Doe, more people are likely to go with Eric.

They are nice, but a month later, you'll have to "unlearn" some things that htmlgoodies taught you. Too many loose ends in those tutorials.

IMHO, if you want to learn something, don't take shortcuts. Flashback to 1980s... Kernighan Ritchie was most difficult to read book on programming in C, and the most famous.
