I know we am behind the times still using FrontPage 98 but didn't want to upgrade till I found a new server & host. The problem has been for a year now and the website host says its not on their end. I can log onto my control panel that my host has for the website but I cannot log onto Frontpage 98 to edit the website any longer.
Here is what happened, my husbands website homepage one day was all out of portion. The side bar was as one page and the contents of the main section could not be seen. I checked the HTML and noticed that somehow someone changed the size of the homepage. I made it so the side bar would not show up and that made the page go off center. I did nothing else but read and see how to fix the problem and to find out what happened.
However sometime later I deceided to log back on to my FrontPage 98 to just redo the homepage since I could not figure it out. Now this time I could not log on so I contacted the host and they said it was not on their end that they could get access to the website using the password. The password works to gain access to the host control panel but I can not gain access to my website to do any editing. I don't know if all the folders are gone and that is why I don't get any access or what the problem is. I have asked the web host if I can make a new website and then delete the one I have live after I delete FrontPage 98 and reinstall it. They said no, so I am asking if anyone at all can give me some kind of clue as what to do to gain access to the website?, before I just delete the whole thing.
I am in the process of looking for a new website host/server that has a shopping cart and somekind of ecommerce that accepts checks that is affordable and doesn't charge an arm and a leg for fees.
We have moved and now we really need to update it all. In fact it needs a overhaul badly. Check it out and you'll see what I mean about the homepage:
