Hey guys,

Can I have some feedback on a new hosting site I just made please? Temporary Site Location (http://www.greenbeastcms.com/_research/new_gbhxonline/index.php).

It's my first "elastic" site, and I did add some "fluid" controls to keep it from going nuts if someone keeps enlarging their text beyond what might be considered normal

Please feel free to comment on any aspect, but do note that pricing, plans, etc., will end up being changed as they have yet to be finalized.

Thanks in advance.
Mike

Hi guys,

I made some corrections, as follows:

1) I brutally edited the footer text and increased its size. Much better I think. It's actually readable now. :)

2) I added text-decoration:underline to the footer links. The page links have a border-bottom so I figure they're all set.

3) I change the order of the jump links so they will be better for people with screen readers.

4) I hid the jump links by way of an offset instead of stripping their visibility. This allows them to be used by keyboarders and screen reader users as they aren't hidden with styles on, but rather sent out of view as they aren't needed by the visitor with a pointing device.

This should correct the main accessibility/usability issues people picked up on in the various forums on which it was reviewed. Thank you to all (nobody here, lol) that gave suggestions.

Hi Greenbeast -
I like reviewing your sites: you always do such good work!

Overall, another nice job. :) However, I'm not fond of the banner for the following reasons:
- The company's name is too far removed (vertically) from the content.
- The text within the banner doesn't seem to stand out enough to make the viewer look at it. (May have to do with previous reason....)
- The repetition of "Hosting"/"Internet Hosting" doesn't seem quite right.

I don't mean to be picky, but the rest of the page looks so good -- seems that the banner just doesn't fit in. I really like the shading effects you applied to the images. They almost look like campy movie shots from the 50's. Really hip stuff.

Just noticed in your metadata that this is done with CMS. MY GRACIOUS! I can't believe you created something like this in that. What CMS program do you use?

Just a guess, http://www.greenbeastcms.com/ :)

HA HA! Thanks, spufi.

Should have known -- actually saw that in there. Just thought it was an author credit.

Our administration wants us to use Microsoft content management. From what I can tell, it's horrible: both to work with and for design. Always curious about options.

Realistically, with my CMS, you basically have to hand code your site, one file at a time as you would normally. The CMS, for me anyway, just allows me much faster and more convenient access. Moreover, it writes a lot of the content html for me which is nice. Anything that saves time.

Thanks guys.
