hi all ...... :)
i did create a web site that uses php and apache as a web server devolped in windows 03 i need to change to linux what should i do and if i want to host in my private computer what sort of software ineed in terms of security on the linux OS....

That'll get you a very nice Linux distribution (I've yet to see a better one). Grab that and install it and then have a look in the computer issues forum for some posts I made about getting started up with it. I don't post often at all in the computer issues section so it'll be easy to find. I wrote it about Suse 9.1, but it should do fine for 9.3 too. I'm typing this from my Suse 9.3 right now and right now, I have the latest versions of Apache, MySQL OpenSSL (well the second most version of OpenSSL, see my sig for why), and a bunch of other things.
Oh and ignore the bit where I talk about Bluefish. Instead I'd strongly recommend JEdit.

Why do people keep telling other people that? Jesus, you can do it on dial-up if you want. You can do it with no internet connection at all if you want.
