Do a google for a free forum, or decided on a server side language that you want to learn (i.e. php or ASP).

Your site has 3 frames this is bad, I'm assuming that you're using a free host by all the ads? Get proper hosting and get rid off all the duff ads.

The text in the frame on the right is virtually illegible (in Firefox, don't know about IE).

I only looked at the first page and have no idea what the site is for/what it's supposed to do. Give your users a reason to visit, make it clear what the purpose of the site is for. Also black with red text isn't too easy on the eye, you should maybe go for a more neutral colour scheme. If you really want to use black, might be better to go with white text and make it larger.

Not too sure what else to suggest as I'm not sure what you mean by 'tone down a pic', also not sure what you want to do with the rest of the site?

phpBB (http://phpbb.com) is one of the best free php-based forum

The phpBB looks VERY fun... I have a website where I would like to be collecting data from customers... like you know in a forum where you can post POLLS? I would like to be able to post monthly polls on my site but not have the clutter of a full forum. Is there an easy way to be able to do this? I do not have a dedicated server (if I would need one), however I do have a P3 computer I just gave to my brother which I suppose I could use as one IF a dedicated server is needed to collect data.

THANKS a million!

well, first you wont need a dedicated server, then you might wanna take a look at http://hotscripts.com for poll scripts to implement to your site

I like BBpress. It is very simple, its free and is very easy to modify. You'll need to learn a little bit of PHP though. I found it easier than PHPBB to workout as I am also a beginner.

Link is here I think: http://www.bbpress.org

first be sure that your host has php, then simply upload the whole directory to your webspace and run the installation file.probably acessible through index.php or directly through install.php or similar

Hi -
Switch hosts - esp. if they don't allow .cgi /Perl scripts, as well - which might offer a simpler Guestbook-type option.

ok, my host does not suport php, so what do i do now?If the host supports CGI/Perl then consider YaBB. I've had a YaBB board running for years on a free site at netfirms.com.
