stream webcam content on website

Hie..i wonder if you guys canhelp me with this.. i'm planning to do my final year project..and what i have in mind is that i want to create a website where i can remotely view whatever happening let say in my house from my webcam. what language should i use...PHP? ASP? and how can i make it possible?...thanx!

i think most webcams come with their own software for providing live streams etc, given as it's a pretty common function.

The main thing you would need is an always on connection to the internet so that the pictures can be uploaded every 5 seconds (or more frequently if that's what you want): the only way for that to happen is for the web cam to have permanent access to the internet.

Thanx for the reply but...actually i want to stream whatever captured by my webcam (video streaming)..and also i need to know how to embed the video feed onto my web.

well as i say virtually every web cam will come with software to set up a video host (which is what you'll need) - give it access to the web and then you can program a link to that host so that people could log on to it. It's a fairly common feature, just check the back of the box when you buy your webcam
