Java applets aren't showing up?

Whenever i view a webpage with java applets in it the java applets aren't showing up i'm running Windows XP and my webbrowser is the latest version of Mozilla FireFox what should i do they used to show up?

this means that some how your browser does not not whihc JVM to use to run those applets, download( and install) the latest JVM from sun site and that will fix it
