Otherwise it's the best web-based e-mail I've come across. tims15 09-24-2005, 07:50 AM I haven't had any problems with it. Would strongly recommend it! BigMoosie 09-24-2005, 09:05 AM Yeah, I havent had any problems. Yahoo's new beta interface sounds interesting, invitation only so am waiting for one before I can review it personally. baijie 09-25-2005, 02:19 AM why me??~~~ NOT FAIR~~~ *CRY* Stephen Philbin 09-25-2005, 07:03 AM Maybe it's your browser? Maybe it's limiting the file size of uploads you make? Or maybe it's being limited by something else. Are you on an administrated network at all? JPnyc 09-25-2005, 01:15 PM I use gmail but more or less it's just storage for me. I keep image files and some files for work that I need to be able to access wherever I am. I hate the interface so I would never use it as a regular email. theuedimaster 09-25-2005, 03:51 PM I like the gmail interface, nice overall e-mail client. I love how they basically make it more of an application than a web page. MstrBob 09-25-2005, 04:29 PM I like the gmail interface, nice overall e-mail client. I love how they basically make it more of an application than a web page. You should look into Yahoo's new beta mail interface. It's like an Outlook clone, only it's a webpage. I think its a neat concept, but Outlook is still ugly looking. I'm so used to Gmail's threading of emails though, it's especially great with something like mailing lists. They've hooked me with that. Sanim 09-25-2005, 06:23 PM I use Gmail, but I've synced it with Apple Mail, so I don't view it on the internet. JPnyc 09-25-2005, 06:50 PM Think i'd like to check that out Bob. Got a link? i like the outlook interface and I hate yahoo's MstrBob 09-25-2005, 07:05 PM Think i'd like to check that out Bob. Got a link? i like the outlook interface and I hate yahoo's Well, I can point to a review with screenshots (http://patcavit.com/2005/09/14/y-mail-beta-impressions/), but the Beta is currently invite only status, so the most one can do is sign up and hope (http://surveylink.yahoo.com/wix/p0473306.aspx) for now. JPnyc 09-25-2005, 07:15 PM Thanks, that looks pretty good. Now if it's truly cross browser compliant, it could be a real winner. theuedimaster 09-25-2005, 10:22 PM Wow! Yahoo, I'm impressed! chrisranjana 09-26-2005, 05:00 AM Gmail is great but I wonder why google still calls it a "beta" ? LiLcRaZyFuZzY 09-26-2005, 09:08 AM well, i bet google wont let yahoo have a better web based mail client, hehe, they ll have a gmail version 2, dont you think? altough i am very pleased with the simple and swift interface the search feature is great as well Sunny G 09-29-2005, 01:14 PM they ll have a gmail version 2, dont you think? If Google made a Gmail 2, what would they improve on? I use Gmail because I don't want to support Hotmail (Microsoft) and I don't like all the ads Hotmail flashes at you. The same with Yahoo, although that new interface is nice. I still like Gmail the best though. How many invites do you guys have? I've got 100. One of my friends refuses to switch from his Hotmail account to Gmail, despite all the invites I send. Is it possible to send all the invites at once? LiLcRaZyFuZzY 09-30-2005, 04:26 AM 100 as well, i guess you can't get more? in version 2..dunno, they'll find something ;) Ultimater 09-30-2005, 04:58 AM Gmail is my number-one choice for email. Many thanks to Jona for the invite he had sent me several months ago. I've got a 100 invites like the rest of you. Any idea what triggers the additional 50 invites? LiLcRaZyFuZzY 09-30-2005, 05:20 AM it's a divine sign! vinoth 09-30-2005, 05:29 AM Still Yahoo eTech|Stacy 09-30-2005, 07:17 AM I have been using Gmail last three month and it has been the best email i have ever used.It is fast, simple to use and of course high memory(2.6GB). Yahoo and Hotmail are nice but are tooooo slow. :) Sunny G 09-30-2005, 01:22 PM Keep in mind that hotmail and yahoo are always throwing ads at you. Gmail only has related ads to the Email in text format which aren't distracting. All the memory is a plus too. I still get spam however. Mostly weirdos trying to sell me software, and some guy named "info" with weird subjects, usually a string of random characters. Do any of you get those? JPnyc 09-30-2005, 01:33 PM With hotmail spam filter set to high, NO spam reaches the inbox. None at all. By the way, netscape free email has just done a complete overhaul. It went from being the MOST primitive of the free emails to now one of the best, at least where the GUI is concerned. Worth a look LiLcRaZyFuZzY 10-01-2005, 03:20 AM you mean NO mail at all reaches the inbox Sunny, did you post your email somewhere`?on some site or anything Sunny G 10-01-2005, 03:08 PM Sunny G, did you post your email somewhere`?on some site or anything What do you mean? My Email address, or an Email message? Oh, duh. Now I know what you mean. I've got two Email addresses. One I use for my robotics site. Yeah, though that site I've gotten alot of spam (but I encoded the address in hex:)). I've also gotten spam in my normal Email address, I think from webdeveloper. This is my normal Email address, but I typed it backwards with spaces in between so It can't be read by a robot. (Let alone a person) m o c . l i a m g @ d r e n . y k c u d gchick 10-01-2005, 05:08 PM i havent got gmail yet (or so i've known..)but i heard pretty good things about it LiLcRaZyFuZzY 10-01-2005, 09:19 PM hey sunny, actually it could very well be read by a robot, it must just find out how you encoded it gchick, if you want gmail just ask about anyone on these forums stanleyns 10-03-2005, 03:26 AM yeah.. gmail rocks.. and ill be happy to send out invites to ppls.. :) Sunny G 10-03-2005, 12:34 PM hey Sunny G, actually it could very well be read by a robot, it must just find out how you encoded it Aparently the robot can read hex. Are there any other encodings? LiLcRaZyFuZzY 10-04-2005, 06:52 AM maybe there is SUNNY but none are perfect http://www.wbwip.com/wbw/emailencoder.html http://hiddenmail.org/ http://email.about.com/od/windowsaddressencoding/ Sunny G 10-06-2005, 06:58 PM maybe there is SUNNYG Sunny G Sunny G Sunny G Sunny G Sunny G Sunny G Sunny G Sunny G Sunny G Sunny G Sunny G Sunny G Sunny G Sunny G Sunny G Sunny G Ultimater 10-06-2005, 07:17 PM lmfao. LiLcRaZyFuZzY, that's enough, give Sunny a break. PhillMc 10-06-2005, 07:57 PM I've been using GMail since day one, no problems. My favorite part about it is the (!!FREE!!) total POP and SMTP support; I don't like the web-interface either, but it works like a charm with ThunderBird. I, too, get spam, but it rarly makes it to the inbox; it's all shoved in the spam folder, which automatically gets trashed. I have to say it's flat out, hands down, no question, the best e-mail service I've ever used. hooloovoo24 10-07-2005, 01:27 AM Okay, every time I try to download thunderbird, I wait like 30 minutes for it to download on my dial-up connection, then when I try to install it, it's like the file is corrupted or something. Which sucks because I know how good it is, and I want to use it so bad. I think that it would be the perfect completion to my Gmail. It's already pretty good at filtering stuff out, but added to Thunderbird's filters, I think it'd be PER-fect. LiLcRaZyFuZzY 10-07-2005, 02:01 AM get it from somone hooloovoo24 10-08-2005, 03:52 PM what do you mean? Sunny G 10-09-2005, 01:20 PM LiLcRaZyFuZzY, that's enough, give Sunny G a break. Not you too?! LiLcRaZyFuZzY 10-09-2005, 04:56 PM what's up sunny? you can't quote text and change it, and still pretend its quoted! Ultimater 10-09-2005, 05:26 PM Not you too?! What? I was defending you. "G" is your last name, why can't we call you by your first name? Slimjd 10-09-2005, 07:14 PM I use G-mail, i switched over to it from hotmail cuz i got tired of all the pop ups. G-mail is the best i've ever seen/used. webdeveloper.com
