Hi
I have a few questions regarding freelancing for companies based in South Africa AND doing remote work for others in the UK.
I need to find out the "in-outs" of what is involved for each from a business perspective, and either an answer here or a pointer to book/online literature/website would be very much appreciated please.
(1) I am due to move to South Africa in a month and already have a possible public sector development project lined up. In view of this I need to know specially in terms of South Africa how I go out working as a freelancer. Tax issues, billing client, how is payment made etc etc.
(2) My current employer is interested in hiring on a per rota basis (paid hourly or per job) once I have left them and moved back to South Africa. Do I bill them with payment made directly to my existing UK bank account? Is it taxable in either South Africa or the UK?
I will probably have to get in touch with a tax/business professional once I am back in South Africa but need to try find answers now as I may get back and only have a week or two before having to start work.
(3) Lastly. If you have been invited to tender for a public sector IT project, I presume you are required to provide FULL documentation on how you will provide them thier requested solution. What exactly is this documentation and is it considered a contract of sorts?
Many thanks for any input you many provide.
Regards
