Since message boards must be server-side, the date of the server is the date that is displayed. Go to your personal profile and change it your current time (e.g., GMT - 6:00).

tasneem is right, I had to change my time to Eastern time to get it to display the correct time. The thing is, I'm in the central time zone! No big deal to me though.

Oh--I don't look at it often enough to notice, I guess. ;)

ok, ok, I wasn't assuming anything I was merely pointing out the fact that the time zones are off by an hour for me and apparently tasneem as well. I could care less if this forum had my exact time, at least it can still serve us in letting us know when the posts where made ( well roughtly ).

well... i'm not looking to stir-things-up.. but once the US (east... at least) moved clocks ahead (spring forward! woo-hoo! lol) the forum clock required a re-set in the user control panel (from -5 GMT to -4 GMT).

i gotta admit that it messed me up for a while too - until i corrected it myself...
so let's not pretend that it's a non-issue.
i know what time my computer says that it is... it's the forum that no longer synched.

it was a valid point...
correctable (with a heads-up)... but valid.

The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say...
;) k

Havik I beg to differ, this board's times are exactly corect. Note carefully, you didn't change your zone from Central Time to Eastern Time but from Central Standard Time to Eastern Standard Time. But really you changed the zone from GMT - 6 to GMT - 5.

I beg to differ? Differ against what? The fact that the times are off for myself and tasneem?

Getting back to the subject, the time has indeed changed (for those with daylight savings time) and the forum time wasn't adjusted to meet that change (not that it had to be). To me this is no big deal because:
- I didn't really use the time anyways
- it can easily be changed in the user control panel

Getting back to the subject, the time has indeed changed ...No, it has not. The time continues to reflect the proper time offset from UTC by however much you set in your prefs. Daylight time is not a part of any international standard and its adoption is strictly a local affair and subject to change according to governmental whim. You will also find that if you move far enough east or west that the time on this board will likewise appear to have changed.

Ok Darwin,

Where is this going? Because I'm going to say something like this:

"Time has changed in my region therefore I am correct when I said time has changed, who are you to deny me that even though it's not an international event."

Then you'll say something like:

"Time cannot change" Or "Time is irrelevant" etc...

Then I'll say something and you'll say something back then someone will butt in etc...

So how about we save each others time and forget it. My time has changed because of daylight savings time. The forum time did not meet that change, so I was merely pointing that out earlier. I'm perfectly happy with adjusting it myself.

Just be clear that the problem was that you changed and that you had certain unwarranted expectations about how the world outside of yourself ought to respond to that change. Much suffering in this world comes from such unwarranted expectations.
