I'm trying to come up with a good domain name (which will also be a company name) for my website design site. I currently have a site with everything I do on it, and I want to split the web design off into a different site.

It needs to be funny/unusual enough for people to remember it, while not sounding too stupid or off-the-wall. It also needs to be something for which I can design a simple effective logo for. I was going along the lines of animals, for example bluemonkey or dancingyeti, but most of the good ones are taken.

I brainstormed some words over the weekend, and got variations on the words style, design, streamlined, organic, refined etc. So maybe something like designrefinery (taken already of course :( ) but with a bit more identity.

I'm trying to project the idea of good clean design that's a bit unique, hence the words above.

Anyway, any suggestions would be great.

Do you have to use the English name? Maybe simple words in another language would be good, too?

I didn't think of that. I'll have to give it a go.

Thanks.

That's available because I just decided not to re-register it. It used to be my personal site. :p

I didn't want to use it for my business as it's hardly a professional name to trade under.

Suprised no-one else thought of that though.

I ended up getting a good one anyway after a good search through deleted domains.

amazon.com, monster.com, google.com - none of those sound professional either...

hehe...I know what you mean though...its tough to settle on something as you worry that everyone will think you're a hack dufus for choosing lovellamas.com. :)

I have been obsessing for years over this, and that was one of the main reasons why I have been procrastinating freelancing web development.

Then it hit me, just f*'in choose two random words from the dictionary, and go with it. So what if it doesn't mean anything, like, what does amazon have to do with books? nothing. Monster with jobs? I don't think so. eBay, you mean like a BAY that ships can go through providing commerce to the nation - no, it was just because they were in the bay area, and at the time, it was fad to put an 'e' before everything.
