Hello all,
I am going to host some ads (free initially) in the near future, and am interested in eventually (if traffic is respectable) charging for impressions.
I know about click trackers...no info for that please. :)
I would like to know if it is an accepted policy to let the person that wants to advertise on my site keep the ad on their site. I would link to it and pull it in to my site rather than host it on my server. This way the customer could check their own logs to see how many times their ad was served up on my site and could also determine click-through by looking for traffic coming from my site to theirs. No reason to use any audit software or pay someone to track your clicks...am I cheap or what?
Is this an acceptable method, or will big business think you're an amateur? Seems like a great way to go for both parties. Any thoughts appreciated.
