Can anyone advise me on this,
I have a few music related sites i.e.
www.twistedhardcore.co.uk (5 years old in various guises), www.scottishhardcore.co.uk (18 months old)
www.twistedagency.co.uk (6 months old)
yet i get crap placemnets in google, yahoo etc. comapred to other sites, any tips greatly appreciated.

How often are you uploading new content? Weekly is reasonable, daily is better. If less frequently than monthly then your site is considered to be dead.
How good is the content that you are uploading? Relevant content that does not appear elsewhere on the web will get the best placement.

in frequnently, but will defo try that strategy.
any idea how come some forums seem to get searched and some dont.

Index page doesn't contain much content.
Underground page is 80701 bytes long, with real content sprayed in between numerous tags. Not easy for spiders to index your site.
Keywords (meta tags) are not present in the text itself
(for instance 'back to the future')
To see if you are indexed, go to
http://web.verfaillie.com/cgi-bin/site?http:/www.scottishhardcore.co.uk/events/UNDERGROUND.HTM
(to get a keywords list of the page), select 3 specific words out of them and put them in google. Example: mindcancer psykore phonofrantic ... and yes, you are the only result in Google.
