OK, I have created a image which is the background for some hover buttons on my webpage, but the problem is that if the visitor to the page has a different text size setting, the hover button and the image no longer line up, is there a way to "force" the text size so this does not happen.

If you do not understand what I am trying to explain, go to my website www.slowsplace.com and set your text size at Largest, the hover buttons on the left frame should line up with the underlying image. But if you have any text size selected, the spacing becomes messed up.

I know hover buttons is an eaasy way to get this done, but I have not learned how to write flash or Java to make it an independent image operation.

Thanks For your Help

Steve

First things first. You cannot over ride the users settings.
Next, I like your background menu image. The applet images do not line up with the background image in IE or NS. So the text you spoke of is not the only problem

The solution, I think is to rid yourself of the applet for another menu. You can find one the in the same way you found the applet menu. If you can make a background image that good, you can make the the menu buttons. But you really don't have to.

As a matter of fact, you can find exactly what you want, if you do a search.

HINT: Search for "button menus", "button menu creators. Or try here. http://web.ask.com/web?qsrc=6&q=Menu+Button+Creator

I have three button software programs, I just could not find the desired effect in those that I wanted. I think the true solution would be for me to learn java/Flash so I could create the buttons.

The desired effect was to make the buttons look like a push button on a dash, so that when you pushed the button, the indicator light would light up. I have a new image that incorporates the buttons and text into one image, it just is not interactive (lights up).

Thanks for you input

You have that effect now. Even if it is in an Applet, you can still copy the buttons with a screen shot of them. You only need one that loghts up, and one to use as a sample to add the text to them. I know you can do it, and you do not need java/flash to do that.
I would fill in the squares of, use it as a background image in that frame and add the others over it.
Or, read carefully to understand what I am saying.

Add buttons to the brushallumside image, Now make a duplicate of it with the lighted images. You now have two opposite ones.
Cut them both into sections equal in size, and name them like, home.jpg and home0,jpg for the home page. Here is a sample on how.
