Un-nest a template

I messed up a template that i had created and then tried to recreate it by using a page that had been created from the original template. But now i have a template that is nested inside itself. Is there anyway to un-nest it? Or is there a way to recreate the template from a page created from the template without nesting it inside itself?

The uneditable code won't allow me to delete it.

Try using an editor that doesn't know or care what any of the non-editable / template stuff means, like notepad.
