Please pardon if this is posted in the wrong area.

I am happy to announce the first development release of TidyPub CMS. This has been a long time coming and I have recently decided to stop waiting for everything to be perfect and simply put out a development release.

I have created TidyPub CMS to be a content management system that stands apart from the rest. My goals include ease of use and lightweight size.

Keep in mind that this is a development release only as there are multiple areas that still need completion.

You can follow the link below to download your copy of TidyPub CMS.

There isn't an official install process complete yet, but the tidypub.sql file included will setup all the MySQL tables that you will need.

Please look at the READ_ME_FIRST.rtf file included in the zip or rar package you download. Not only does this give an introduction, but it also notes various areas that are still in development.

I’m hoping for great feedback and input from users and developers that can see the value in what I am aspiring to offer.

Steve over at SitePoint pointed out that I hadn't included a list of features or benefits. Sorry about that! Hope this helps!

Sorry about that.

The areas in which I believe TidyPub CMS stands apart is in the ease of management. Although Mambo, Drupal, and others are great CMS's, they tend to be fairly complicated for individuals with limited knowledge.

I have developed TidyPub to try and make maintaining a website as easy as possible.

Integrated WYSIWYG editor (FCKeditor) with Thumbnail Image and File browser. No need to worry about those crazy directories either. The file manager starts right in your root directory.
Add / Edit / Remove Content Pages.
Designer Friendly - Simple doesn't even explain how easy it is to mold this to your design.
Choose which page to use as your homepage with the click of a single link
Menu Manager - Choose which pages to include in your navigation menu and order them easily
News Manager - Manage Categories, Sub Categories, News Items, Newsflash box
Contacts Manager - Manage Contact Categories, Manage Contacts

Hope this helps! I can't believe I forgot to post this to begin with. Thanks for the heads up Steve!

First question: what exactly is the point of this post? do you want people to give you feedback on your coding? or do you want feedback on your actual product?

Second question: how do you run the mysql script?

I'm looking for feedback on the CMS as a whole. I believe it is something that a lot of designers would enjoy using. Keep in mind this is a developmental release.

The MySQL script can be run from within PHPmyAdmin or another such tool.

From within phpMyAdmin, select the database from the left pane. Then select the SQL tab and click browse, find the SQL file and click go. Keep in mind this is a developmental release. When the first stable version is released, there will be a simple install wizard.

No I didn't. I've setup a demo site for users to test out the system. I would appreciate any feedback you have to offer.
