Hi,

Looking for a recommendation of a perl or php application used for internal use to assign tasks to programmers and other staff. It will allow us to track tasks which have not been started, in progress and complete etc..

Thanks
David J.

I'd use a forum personally.

There are plenty available
the title of the thread could be the project name
updates would come thru responses when the project is finished the thread
could be closed.

For PHP coming very soon is: http://www.infinitecore.com/
It's free, and has been created by many ex-Ikonboard coders. I've been testing it over the last few weeks before it is publically released very soon and it is a very good board.

For Perl I think I would still recommend: http://www.ikonboard.com
At the moment the latest beta version has disappeared from their site, but it is good despite the problems they have with their parent company (Westlin).

I recommend DotProject. It's a wonderful, open source Project Management tool. We use it in our Web Development firm to track all of the projects, their tasks, and a various amounts of other information.

Did I mention it was free?

Hope this helps..
