Pop-up calendar return values

I am a very unexperianced programmer, and am trying to amend a page created by someone previously in my job.

They have created a page which provides a pop-up calendar when you click into a text box. This provides a date in the format 'dd/mm/yyyy'

Is there a pop up calendar which will return the date in the format of 'dd/monthname/yyyy' eg 13/may/2006 rather then 13/05/2006?
