is there any way to modify the mailto command to grab an file from a user's local drive and attach it to an email...so all they have to do is click send and the mail w/ attachment is on its way?

That would be a severe privacy issue if it were possible, as most people would probably not notice that a file was being attached from their hard drive and sent along.
