My domain is getting millions of spam email. : (
My current hosting company have turned off the email.
They said their servers can't cope.
Originally I had a catch all email account.
I've stopped that.
BUT... my hosting company still says that this causes tooo much load even then because they still have to deal with the spam hitting their servers.
What can I do?? :( :( :( :(
I'm lost.
HELP!
Thanks.

Well it's extremely unlikely, but the spam might be coming from the same address. If that's the case, then you can ignore that IP, but it's very rare that spam comes from the same place twice. I don't think there is anything you can do to stop it coming once it starts. I think the best you can do is just be careful where your email address appears on the web, so the spammers can't harvest your address in the first place.
thanks for the reply.
but... it still defies logic for me that anyone can choose a domain and destroy it by adding it to spammers lists.
:( :( :( :(

well, it does make sense if it's a concurrent-> quick way to get rid of him :p
You meant millions of spam!? millions??Like in 10^6 !?
well yes. :(
that's what my hosting company has told me.
they sais the load is too much and they have no option.
are there any web hosting forums anywhere where i could ask?
i couldn't think of any, so i thought i'd try asking in here.

dunno, can't you change your e-mail adress?
u didn't read my post.
i have turned off the catch all email account.
the email account i wanted to have active hardly received any emails.
regardless... my hosting company has said that their servers still had to cope with bouncing back loooads of emails.

Find out the domain most spam mails are coming from then if you have sendmail enabled ask your hosting company how to setup a sendmail reject list for that domain that the spam is coming from
