I've just installed the new Apache 2.0.55 release, but it doesn't seem to read the .htaccess files, any idea?

What OS is it on and is it not reading htaccess files on a specific directory, a bunch of 'em, or all of them?

winxp sp2 pro
all of them
I changhed AllowOverride None to AllowOverride All in httpd.conf and it read them

widows has a different way to read the .htassess / .htpasswd files.
