While Apache (as part of phpdev, if that's relevant) was running, my computer got bumped, overheated and had to be rebooted. Now when I try to start Apache it tells me "Unclean shutdown of previous run." I've tried reinstalling and restarting to no avail. Please help.
Edit: After uninstalling and reinstalling over and over and deleting all files every time, installing phpdev 5 worked. No idea why. Thanks to those who've helped so far.
Will the server not start? An "Unclean shutdown of previous run" is not usually a problem , only a warning.

Yeah, it won't start. The console opens, flashes that message, and closes.
This happened when I had phpdev installed and even when I uninstalled it and installed Apache 2.0.55 instead. Apache worked perfectly as part of phpdev. :(
Did you delete all httpd.pid and php.ini? These could be corrupted and are often left behind in several folders after uninstalling.

I found a rogue php.ini in the Windows directory but deleting it didn't fix Apache. :(
If Apache hasn't already been started and the re-install was done correctly, it should run.
Maybe the Apache forum (http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum92/) can help you further.

Hmm ok. I'll try there. Thank you :)
