Hi

As many I am fairly new to website design and build, but managing to get by so far using html and a little of this and that along the way. The site is constantly updated and new pics added. In fact most of the content is pics. I know the site needs more text, such as history of the band and more details to keep the user interested.

I would be grateful of any advice or constructive critism. eeek but not too harsh eh.

Thank you in advance to anyone who takes time to visit.

Well,

This is my opinion and I always try to give positive comment instead a negative. So please do read it like that.
Try considering these:

- use CSS instead of your current tag-additions. That's one step to your w3c valid coding and easier to alter your website // control your website
- don't use those 'stupid' 'no-right-click-pop-up's'. I mean: why? to protect your source code? your images? Everything can still be viewed in for example IE using the 'view sourcecode' in the 'view > sourcecode' and even easier using FF.
Your script isn't that good afterall: right click one time (you get your 'error') right click ones more on the "ok" button and hold it while you press your left button. Release your left button to get rid of the popup and release your right button. you see.
- if you put images of your band (or whatever) on your website you should reconsider resizing them first and make them clickable for a large one. Since your pictures are around 800kb your loading time of your site is increased enormously.
- again for a step towards w3C: use 'alt' for your images for those who don't see the pictures.
- that mouse trailer... I'm not to font of that one...
- are all your pages really 'copyright protected 2005'? ... must cost a fortune ;-)

Hmm,
As previously said, you should consider writing valid semantic markup, and use CSS.
You might also consider writing code that works in every browser, i had to open your page in Internet Explorer to see what mouse trailer and no-right click script 3Pinter was talking about.

The overall design is pretty ugly and plain, altough it's okay for a first site, but the color scheme is bad and the graphics (banner, and those "lips") are pretty blurry. Especially the first page, where the background is full of lips, i'd drop that.

Thank you for your advice. I have removed the mouse trailer - wasn't too keen after seeing it everytime I checked in. As I said, new to this, so telling me to write semantic markup is like telling me to write it in a foreign language. I will however keep at it, keep trying to learn new things and look into things you have both advised on.

I know what your saying about the lips on the front page, the band has some glam rock influences and the pink lips are from that. I am also not all that sure on CSS, so you see how new I am.

As for the pics, some of them are small which then produce a larger pic on click. As the site is updated and new pics added, old ones will be removed and hopefully, I will master any issues in time.

Once again, thanks for your time.
