would someone be able to advise me on the risks (or pros and cons) of creating an html application.
is this risky? and if so, why?
i really dont have much experience on this and any assistance / information would be great.

You can't really do an application in HTML. It's a markup language, not a programming language.

HTA is supported in IE only if not mistaken.
Application means programming required, logic is built.
HTML capable to do static display, and purely on UI
