Please review my site. I am new and not sure about some elements. It appears that picture on home page is slow in loading. When it come to html information I need special help since I created it in FrontPage. Where do I name the home page? Where do the search words go? http://www.tomjonescareercenter.com (http://tomjonescareercenter.com)

Here's some help on creating metadata for your pages: http://kdla.ky.gov/onlinepubs/onepage/0605.htm
I wrote this for public library staff, but it applies to any HTML document.

Have you looked at this in IE with my screen settings? Whoa - it's a mess.
You NEED to validate your HTML. [http://validator.w3.org/] There's quite a bit of messy stuff in your coding, which could be causing your display problems.

Here's my advice: take out ALL the fancy stuff. Just stick to content and making the site's design consistent throughout. Once the site looks good, gradually add enhancements. People come to websites like yours to get information, not be entertained; so, really focus on that instead of all the bells and whistles.

Good Luck -

I swear this looks like an really old design to another site I saw ages ago. Menu images and everything. Anyway, I would kill about half the colors and use that as your color scheme versus what you have now. Is there suppose to be a huge space between the logo and where " Welcome to the Tom Jones Career Center." is?

Hi -
Like it or not, Frontpage isn't going to be able to create a site for you...in fact, it'll add so much junk that you'll have a really hard time deciphering the code you've helped it to create!

Get a simpler, free editor like HTML-Kit or TSW Web Coder [older versions, if avail.] and start reading books or tutorials to get the basics under your belt - and to understand them. Until you know why you're using certain tags, how they normally will display, and how they can be altered with css, you're not
going to achieve a professional-looking site design. [Okay maybe you could, as I've seen here many times - but knowledge truly is power, you know? ;-)]

Forget the notion of how a page is 'supposed' to look and browse through sites to get as many layout ideas as you can - it'll free you up to making even better layouts.

Good luck,
El

to: SPUFI You must have your graphics turned off. There is a photo in that space. I need to inbed alt words yet. I am using an old FrontPage 2000 so "Everything old is new again".

Thank you to everyone. I hope you will all keep an eye on me and keep commenting.

Could this have something to do with SPUFI's problem? I see nothing in there too.

That very well could be true. This is an image that I am having trouble with. It is in jpeg but I don't think that Front Page is reading it right. It is throwing off my codes but I am still too inexperienced to know how to fix it. I am going into other search engins today to see where they are having trouble. Will keep trying.
