Hello all, I have just launched this site a couple of days ago and am really excited about it. I do have some problems though. (Don't we all) About 3-4 years ago I started to play around with web design, and then because of not having enough time, couldn't continue it. Finally, I got some time, and created Netreview.org. So far, things have gone pretty well, but it can always get better. I have tried validating with w3, and when I do this, it seems to screw the whole web page up, and I don't feel like making everything all over again. (I learned my lesson), but maybe I am just using the wrong Doc-type, or something. Help on this matter would be greatly apperciated. What is the benefit of this anyhow? I see that some Top ranking sites have faulty html.

Also, I would love some advice on making my site more search friendly.

And, of course, what do you all think about the design.

Thank you in advance!

I checked your site with this validation: http://validator.w3.org/ . You have 42 errors!!! Wow!

You really should go through these errors one by one and correct them. Some are quite easy to fix. I won't submit my sites with even one error!! That's your reputation on the line.

Other than that, your site has a good appearance, and the navigation I tried was fine as well. Keep at it - but make it perfect before publishing it!

As for making it more "search" friendly, fix the errors....

Hi -
The header's okay, but the rest is pretty chunky-looking.
Try sticking to one font and selecting a background color
for some areas that will contrast well with the blue - that
red isn't doing enough & is hard to read. Your bottom links
are teeny-tiny, and the side nav text seems too large.

Once you learn more, try dropping all of the deprecated tags
[like <font>] and using css style rules to change the look of
the .html tags, instead. [Instead of using tables as a basis for layouts
selecting tags that will best show the content.]
That scrolling text is pretty old-school, as well - any other options?

Have fun, keep at it,
El

Also add some padding/margins to create some space between the edges of things and your text.
