Dreamweaver 8 mail forms.....

hi folks, my first time on here so please be gentle....fairly new to all this but keen to learn.... :o

Anyway, ive just set up a site on dreamweaver 8 and its currently being hosted on streamline.net....as you can imagine being my first ever site and all im over the moon..

Now for the problem.....on the contact page on my site i have a small mail form, this just askes for a name, email addy, subject and a message and at the bottom a little submit and reset button....this is all in place and looks ace but im stuck now in how to get it to work(send mail)..

Ive got a little script example from my host that im guessing i need to use but as yet am unsure where it needs to go... :p i know what you are thinking but remember i am a newbie..

So would i have to put this in a hidden field of just in the value field of the actual form properties, or somewhere else...

Also would i have to build another page for the user to be sent to after the form has been (hopefully) submitted.

Im a bit lost with this one and everthing i try just doesnt seem to work or if im esecially wrong i will get some scripting running across the page.... :rolleyes:

sorry to bother you guys with this but as you can appreciate i am new and my ideas are now fully used up.....thanks for any help :)

It outlines what you have to do to make this happen... it's rather easy. Take a read of it and report back here if you got it and your ready to go or if you need help with all of it or just a little.

The next query i have about it all now is where to put this script.... :o

To give you a bit of insight in to what i have done i will explain what i have...
The contact page just has a simple form on in as i descibed above, the form just has "submit" and "reset" buttons...i have set the behavouirs of the form so if a user doesnt insert all required info then he will be prompted to go back and complete properly...

Now my question would be as to were i would insert the script i have from my host...
The way i see it i have 3 options...
1.enter the script somewhere in the form coding (not sure where).
2. insert a hidden field in the form and put the script in the values for this field.
3. insert the script in the action field of the properties of the actual form...

But knowing my luck it is none of the above... :o
I can get my head around how the script is needed and to an extent how it will work but just need clarity on where exactly it would need to goto get the form to actually send the info to my mail addy..

I just got a horrible feeling im overlooking something too obvious here...
Dreamweaver is an awsome piece of kit but it just seems to do too much, and even though i am a complete novice it seems that i am always looking for something more complicated were in reality dreamweaver has already done it!!!

P.s.. the page is just a simple page which was created from the starter page designs in dreamweaver 8 and the form i put in is also part of their page designs so all basic stuff..(not for me though).. :cool:
