LJK 12-03-2005, 07:48 PM Hi - Oh Ray, you makin' me laugh on that. But seriously folks, this is a Web Developer's Forum. Be you well-versed, halfway there or squeaky-new to it, the goal is to learn, test, and grow, or to just end up w/ a puzzle & scratch heads... When you flat-out say you didn't really put too much thought into learning about the coding used to create a web page then expect us to "review" it; what's the point? [If you just need a pat on the back - ask a friend or relative to have a look, instead ;-)] Have you browsed the Reviews here before? There's a wealth of basic info. in the posts, the 'sticky' threads [even in the signatures,] that's worth a look. Some of the few I can remember offhand: 1. Table-based layouts aren't a great idea. 2. Neither are framesets. 3. Validate your code using the W3C's validation service. 4. Code for Firefox; Tweak for IE. 5. Add the correct !DOCTYPE. 6. Music w/out user controls, scrolling text & mouse-chasers are simply annoying and add rarely add anything of value to the content of the site...only to a user's frustration levels. [I would add 90% of the animated .gifs I've seen to that...] 7. Try keeping your content [html tags] as separate from the appearance [css styles] as possible - skipping all those lovely, cumbersome, old-fashioned [deprecated] tags. Hope you get the time and interest to go further & just wanted to help clarify what that first response you'd gotten might have meant, El webdeveloper.com
