Flash - creating a editable symbol

Hi,

I'd like to know how i could create a variable or something in order to change colour or size to ALL the same images (like same buttons). I'm sure I can do that, but i can't remember how!

for instance i'm creating a map, and all the regions are buttons. I'd like to be able., once the map has been finished, to change the colour of every single region without edit the single symbols.

Use 1 main graphic symbol with the desired color and then make copies of it for each region. Convert those to buttons or whatever. Then just change the root symbol's color once and everything else will change.
