Image Usage w/ HTML

Hey, I am currently developing a page for a site, and I will be using many photo's within the page. I was just wondering when you make a page with images, do the images have to uploaded onto the net for them to be displayed properly in other people's browser? (sorry about the question, but I'm sort of new, and I just want to make sure they need to be uploaded first)

well, if they aren't on the net then no one can see them. You can do the whole thing on your computer and when your done just upload it.
