Ken Burn Effect with SMIL?

Is it possible to create a Ken Burns effect using jpegs and SMIL?

I don't know enough/anything about SMIL to answer the question myself, but if it's "yes" then I shall be learning SMIL.

Yes, its possible.

But its seems like it might look better if done in flash, only because the presentation would look more integrated into the site. ( no real player pop-ups)
