Can someone please help me understand this site and whether or not I can simply drag photos from their site and use them on my own? They say the photos are free, but then they show credit cards somewhere on the site. How does a site such as this work? I need free graphics for a site I'm developing for a client. Is this the place to go?

That site is "royalty free" meaning that you MUST purchase the images but you do not have to pay royalties when then image is used.
If you want free you need to find "public domain" images, there are different classes such as: (1) images you can use for personal but not commercial (2) images you can use for both (3) images you can use for both, but you cannot edit. It is safest to console with the site you are taking the image from.

The best free image site I've seen is this one:

All the images are free to download and they have various terms of use. A lot have absolutely no restrictions whatsoever but some state that you have to contact the owner of the image and tell them where you're using it - I guess they are just curious about where their images are being used and they want to check it's not being used inappropriately. In practice, I found more than enough great photos with no useage restrictions at all.
