Hi,

I have a hyperlink with 4000 chars in the Url.
This Link becomes unclickable in IE.
I seems that it accepts only 2100 chars in the URL.
i.e 2KB i guess.

Any Pointers could be of great help.

for example

Here is the sample code

<a href="http://localhost/test.asp?9023490902349090234909023490902349090234909023490902349090234909023490902349090234909023490 9023490902349090234909023490902349090234909023490902349090234909023490902349090234909023490902349090 234909023490902349090234909023490902349090234909023490902349090234909023490902349090234909023490aaaa adssdfsddsssdsdjkasdfhjkdfhsajkhsdfajkhsdfakjhsdfakjhsdfajkhdsfkajhdfasjkhasdfjkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk3423434221 33423412423343434123441231abc123fsdaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak33489342349082349082342349203890348092 34023494523349453d2348923423489023490234d45980523489023490834945904845958048904523909234980234980ier kldfl;flsdfkdfl;ksfl94dfgdddgfhgfghfgfghfggfgf4ains%3ED43%2E00%29%29%3Cand%3E%28%3Cfilter%3E%28conte nt%5Ftype%3Cmatches%3Emanuals%29%29%29%3Cor%3E%28%3Cfilter%3E%28supported%5Frelease%3Ccontains%3ED31 %2E02%29%3Cor%3E%3Cfilter%3E%28supported%5Frelease%3Ccontains%3ED38%2E03%29%3Cor%3E%3Cfilter%3E%28su pported%5Frelease%3Ccontains%3ED39%2E01%29%3Cor%3E%3Cfilter%3E%28supported%5Frelease%3Ccontains%3ED3 5%2E02%29%3Cor%3E%3Cfilter%3E%28supported%5Frelease%3Ccontains%3ED33%2E00%29%3Cor%3E%3Cfilter%3E%28s upported%5Frelease%3Ccontains%3ED33%2E01%29%3Cor%3E%3Cfilter%3E%28supported%5Frelease%3Ccontains%3ED 33%2E02%29%3Cor%3E%3Cfilter%3E%28supported%5Frelease%3Ccontains%3ED34%2E00%29%29%29%29%29&QueryText=%2A&Collection=vc9000&SortField=score&SortField=full%5Ftitle&SortOrder=desc&SortOrder=asc&ScoreThreshold=10&ViewTemplate=ntlview%2Ehts&ResultStart=11&ResultCount=10dsfasdfsdfsdfaasdfasdfsdfasdfddfasasdf">mypage</a>

No you do not need a hyperlink with 4000+ characters. Use form with post method to send large quantities of information to another page.

Vladdy,

I am forced to send such a huge request through get method
only.

Any pointers on this.

What "forces" you  There is no reason why you can not modify whatever you are working on to use form with the post method.

Actually whatever i get in the url is from a search engine
and i am trying to simulate a paging scenario for the search results so that none of the parameters i get from search engine are lost.

So basically i use search engine's paging properties.
for example
<a href=$$nextpage>Next</a>

that is the reason.
