How to make index page load without using index.htm

Hi

I have just done up a webpage for example
www.yy.com.sg
but in order for me to access the webpage and see my index page
i have to type
www.yy.com.sg/index.html

how to make it such
that when i type www.yy.com.sg it would show the index.html directly ??

try renaming the file index.htm then default.html and default.htm
It all depends on your servers configuaration

Um it doesn't seem to work, does it depend on which directory i put it in, i put in the root directory

do u have a directory that has other html files in it?

Ask your provider what name they have the server configured to use for the home page.
