PDF document

I want to display a PDF document from my web site. What do I need to do to display this in the browser and to get viewers to download.

I am not sure if you can display the PDF itself since it needs Adobe Acrobat Reader...but having a link to it just as you would for a music file should suffice....

I never really had PDF document downloads on my site before so I am unsure if any browser will display PDF without the use of Adobe Acrobat....

Correct, the user needs Acrobat (Reader) installed to view PDFs, and if it is not installed or the browser/version is not recent enough a download will occur. Linking to the PDF should be sufficient.
