WMV file stops playing on MAC

Hi.
I have embedded a WMV movie

Mac users can download and install WMV player but when I checked it on my friend's laptop the movie played but then it stopped and wouldn't continue playing

does anyone know why the movie would stop on Mac

also, can anyone provide a better solution for placing this film on the website. I'm using WMV file becasue it's really good quality and small in size (4MB as opposed to 80MB in MOV) even a flash movie of that size and quality will come up to 16 MB

...but if anyone has a solution for MACs, please let me know

i cant comment on mac but wmv files are very good for streaming online.

we host lost of vids some over 3 hours long, they stream with no jumping.
not many people use mac now, and the future is very much not mac.

also it could be your friends security settings on his laptop, your page could be fine.

I looked at it with my mac (OSX) in Safari, downloaded the player, and it freezes very near the beginning of the video (about a second after the first scene transition).

I don't have a solution for you, but I wanted you to know I experienced the same problem.

try loadin a wmv from a different site to see if the same problem occurs. if it does it might be the player. if it isnt its your code / movie.
