hi,

To get a customised error page u need to get in touch with ur web services provider ie where your webserver is. They will link your customised 404 page to the one that you have made.

On the customised page. run a script that will capture the HTTP REFERER page i.e the page the vistor waas looking for. this way you will always be informed if page is missing or wrong link are been send to people or on the site.

Incase if you need any more information you can make a search about customized 404 pages
