What technology for music website?

I'm currently designing a music based website. I'm currently using php/mysql to pull things out my artist/releases database but what should I use for managing my articles? Features/interviews/reports etc?

ha! emm, that's an idea! yes! hehe.

I know this is a bit of a DB question but does it matter if I have a database with lots of tables which aren't related to each other at all, or should I have a seperate database for these?
