Correct spelling of cheque?

Could someone tell me, do Americans spell cheque (as in a peice of paper than takes money fro one account and puts it in another) as cheque or check?

It's just I need to know which one to put on my website ;)

Americans spell it check, but most of us are aware of the British spellings of words. I think either way most people will understand what you mean.
