Hello all,
I had a quick question for everyone. I had Netscape 6.23 and installed Netscape 7.02 thinking that they'd both stay on the computer. However, this was not that case as I lost Netscape 6.23. After re-installing NS6 I noticed NS7 didn't work. And now I've lost both of them after uninstalling NS6. What I want to know is, is there any way to have both these installed on the computer at the same time? Or am I the only one experiencing this problem?

unless there is a hack to manipulate the registry entries ,I don't think you can do that...I'd like to know the answer as well...:D

Well, I tried again but no dice. So I settled for Netscape 7 instead. I also got Opera 7.1 and Mozilla 1.4a so that makes 4 browsers (including IE6). All basically for testing purposes. But I love Opera and that's my main browser now (it was Netscape before).
Anyone know if the same problem exists with the other browsers? ie: Can Opera 5, 6 and 7 be installed at the same time? What about IE or Mozilla?

Well, both my 6.2 and 7 were getting really buggy so I uninstalled both, downloaded both installers again, and reinstalled.
Created 2 folders on c:Programs named Netscape7 and Netscape6.
Installed Netscape 7 first. Did a custom instal and chose Netscape7 as the instal folder. At one point it said something about a previous installer had installed files and did I want to write over them. Said YES.
Instal went fine and NS7 worked fine.
Then installed Netscape6. Custom of course. Installed in the NS6 folder I created. Didn't ask about any files but did say I lost my network connection twice and to click 'Retry' to continue or 'Cancel' to quit. Hit 'Retry' both times and instal went fine.
Both browsers seem to be working fine and I've not had any problems.....

I just did the same thing. I installed NS7 with everything and NS6 with just the navigator, and classic skin and it works thus far. I'll post back if it anything goes awry. :D

I am running NS4.7, NS6.2, NS7, Opera7.10, Moz 1.01 and IE5 on my office machine (Win2K).
On my home machine, I have NS4.7, NS6.2, Opera7 and IE5.5 (Win 98). I installed Op7.10 on this machine and both 7 & 7.10 became dysfunctional. So I uninstalled 7.10 (queer, huh? :)).
I seem to have no conflicts at either places. I can run NS4.7 with NS6/7, but I can't run NS6 and NS7 at the same time.
I didn't do anything, just installed NSs in different folders.

Forgot to add: If I am running MSN messenger, I can use only Opera or IE. If I use NS, it works fine... but I cant shutdown my computer (blue screen of death when I click [Start] >> [Shutdown...]
Java is installed separate. I don't install the "full package". Only NS navigators.
