Hi Icy....

From Wordpad:

File / Save As :

yourFileName.html

(it's just like magic :) !!! )

the "inexpensive alternative"?

NOTHING!!!
(you don't need anything else... although you could always use Notepad as well :) ).

Creating web pages is not so hard...
unless you need a team of WYSIWYG developers to dumb-it-down for you :) :) :) ... then it requires MONEY!$!$!$! , extensive laziness, diminished brain activity, no skill, a forum to fix everything that it creates for you, extensive load-time, a false sense of accomplishment..........

... or....
you could just use WordPad or Notepad... and then never have to pretend to be anything that you are not :) .

.... so....
just click on "Save As" ... and your all set!!!
(LOL!!!)

One important thing during this action :

Please make sure you select "UNICODE TEXT DOCUMENT"
from 'Save as type :' combo, else the saved html will show some junk units !

Have a great day ! :)

That`s great guys and girls but it doesn`t keep the formatting. Unless I did something wrong. The whole point is to keep the formatting. I have like 60 files to change.

Thank yous

WordPad is not a WYSIWYG editor, so you will either need to hard code the page and save as a HTML file, or get some sort of WYSIWYG editor to copy your text into and then save...

oops

sorry....
misunderstood your question

(so i guess that you were looking for the "team of WYSIWYG developers" all along. i guess that i was WAY-off on this one. my bad)

if you know basic html, you can download arachnophilia for free. just go to their website. it's a color coded html prgoram. it helps you find the tags your need, etc. you'll have to download the java engine too (which is also free). http://www.arachnophilia.com has all the information needed in order to get it running.
btw, i just downloaded this program to make sure it was easy and quick to do since it has been a while since i have used it.

not sure by your question exactly what you are trying to convert... you have 60 word pad documents you want to make into html pages?

i'll look around and see if there are any free trials out there too.. in fact... dreamweaver may have a free trial you can use for like 30 days or something... let me check.

ok, not sure if you are still needing a WYSIWYG editor... but yes, macromedia dreamweaver does have a 30 day free trial that you can download. it's like $500 to buy, so if you only need it for a while, this could be your ticket. you have to sign up with them... establish a screenname, etc... but then you can download Dreamweaver or Contribute (not sure what this is but sounds like a simple WYSIWYG editor and it's only $99 if you decide to buy it... ) for a free trial. that may help you out. you can just drag and drop and it has tools to edit the text, page, etc.

:D

good luck!!
