Ok. So. Has anyone been to a website before and tried to steal an image? Now, has anyone done this only to find that the popup menu was either non existant or otherwise didnt offer the 'save picture as' option? I know that it is possible to completely disable the right click popup menu to visitors... but how do I just prevent the stealing of pictures? I am just curious, I wouldnt actually do it. I get most my pictures in this same way I am looking to prevent... lol.

You cannot, and I mean this strongly and it has been discussed oh so many times, you absolutely CANNOT prevent images that are displayed on your website from being 'stolen' or copied or saved as or anything, cause even if you could prevent all those methods, there is still the Print Screen button which legally cannot be prevented from taking a screen shot. For a longer, and I mean longer, discussions on this, have a search of the forum (which you should always do before you post anyway)

Ok. Thanks... I didnt think it was practical to do. I wont even bother look any further. Still though, I am curious how it was done to me. I imagine most people arent smart enough to circumvent whatever a web designer uses... lol. Even if it can be done... I sure as heck didnt know any way around it. I will do a search for a more related forum before I post again.

you can, as you said, place the image in a popup and remove all bars, and then remove right click feature, but you can just look at the code on the parent window, find the address of the popup, open it in a new window, view the source and copy and paste the image location in the address bar and there it is.... there are ways to make it harder for a beginner > novice to get the image, but it can always be 'stolen'
