Hi guys,

I took your advice from last time on board (thankyou soooo much) and have completely revamped my site. Let me know what you think. It is a web-design business site - I have just started up my own biz and am about to tell every man and his dog about it so don't hold back with the comments, k?

www.creatica.com.au

Thanks!

Creatica.

I ran the site through w3.org validator and it gave 1 error and a warning.

the warning was :

Warning Line 6 column 52: character "&" is the first character of a delimiter but occurred as data.

I suggest using "&" in place of "&"

the error was :

Error Line 39 column 77: required attribute "alt" not specified.

I suggest just putting alt="" if you dont actually want alt text.

Othere than that, I like the graphics but the red kind of caught me off guard.

But overall I would say great design :)

Well I've slapped myself on the wrist for relying in the dreamweaver validator and not validating with W3C after making final changes... Will fix soon.

Thanks....

I like it.
That red wrapper thing, -that is some kind of red! I might tone that back a little bit. And maybe not have the black be so dark. -Go for a more deep charcoal maybe. Maybe it's my monitor, but even the black kind of hurts my eyes to look at it. There maybe should be some contrast between the 'background' (black) and the 'foreground' (red) color. The eyes should be pulled towards the subject area. I find my eyes wandering around the whole viewport, squinting and blinking.
I see that the mail link on the bottom shows up in a hard-to-read fuschia colour. You might want to make that something a bit more readable. White-on-black maybe. And use of TITLE="" in your links (an aid for visiually-impared, and it helps text-readers identify what it is).
Yeah, -nice looking site. :-) I am seriously liking the drop-down menu part. :)

It looks pretty good. I would suggest moving the graphic up to the top of the screen. There is no reason that I should have to scroll down to see the bottom of it. Its just black up there anyways.

edit- and you might want to spell check it too. There is no such word as learnt

"The new Creatica website is finally up. It took a lot of trying out of new ideas, but I learnt a lot of new tricks in the process."

edit2- Nevermind it appears to be located at the top of the screen but atleast using firefox when you select anything from the dropdown it loads up the menu in the top first and then moves the graphic down. That is a bug.

Red Red Tooo Much Red.

The color scheme could use a little adjusting, though the rest of your page seems quite fine.

Looks good, you just have to proof read your content and get rid of grammatical errors. For example, on your landing page it reads "Are you are a small business owner?" instead of "Are you a small business owner?".

Hi thanks for the feedback. I did think about dark grey instead of black but was unsure of the right grey due to so much variation in monitor colours but I reckon I will change it later on due to everyone saying it is hard to read the text. For now i will leave it as it requires a fair bit of rework on the graphics and I know I've spent WAY too much time fiddling and tweaking to be productive.

And sorry but the red stays.. I know you all don't like it but I think it makes my name and logo stand out - maybe this is a mistake but I plan to market offline and locally mostly and I think it helps with the whole logo branding corporate identity thing. It's supposed to have impact.

Not trying to be smart, but...

From dictionary.com....

learnt
v. A past tense and a past participle of learn.

Sometimes its tricky to proofread your own site, coz you read it so many times you miss really simple errors. I'll have to get someone else to read it, I think.

I thought he was trippin too when he said theres no such word as learnt! :)
I really like the site, and think the red's a little bright at first but i got used to it pretty quick and did like it a lot. My only suggestion would be to make the thumbnail in your portfolio actual links aswell as the text. I wanted to click on the thumbnail.
Great work!!!

I grew up in Texas, and recall hearing learnt used as such: "He learnt me the right way to do math. My cipherin weren't no good fore then". Hehehehehe...sorry, had to.

I really like the colors...think they're great...very bold and attention-getting. Beauty is in the eye... :)
