installing live chat on web site

I am interested in what goes into installing a live chat community on a web site. Is it complicated? What steps do I take and what things should I be aware of? Also, please recommend some good inexpensive chat software.

You could try a site like www.bravenet.com ..... they have chat applets that you can register for and then use on your site... ISPs like tiscali have similar offers too.

If your site up and running on a server, then that host might even provide a ready made room for you to insert into your site.
