Is there a way for an image tag that doesnt have a picture to show (that would normally show the alt text) so simply be removed from the page completely, so that neither the alt text nor the ugly X box will show up?

Why include an image tag in your page unless an image to show exists?

The only reasons why it should normally show the alt text is when the person viewing the page has images turned off or is using a browser that doesn't support images (eg web readers).

I dont know, does it matter? Another "why?" response... lol... annoying. I think that the X box is ugly... simple enough... I dont want it. If for some random, unforseen, God-intervening reason my image was unable to show, I dont want the x-pixel by y-pixel box with a big red X in it to show its ugly face. Is there anything I can do? HTML, JavaScript, CSS... I dont care... something. Doing it server side is fine with me, but how?
