Hello all who read this,
Was wondering if anybody out there knows if it is possible to put a doorbell on a webpage.....one that sends an alarm to the server when page is accessed or a link button that the user could click on of some sort.....I have goggled all over but so far I can only find pay services......hope you can help

hey, you can use php for this. what are you trying to accomplish with this? what do you mean send an alarm to the server?

Thanks for replying......funny thing is I just installed php so I could set up some forums....lol...more problems........but that’s later.......

I have set up an Abyss Web Server (working fine) all I want is an audible sound to play when someone surfs to my homepage and chat room.

As to my othe problem, I need to get abyss setup to use PostgreSQL, i use this dbs because I am not so tec and this one has an admin panel. I get as far setting up phpbb "the php configuration on your server doesn’t support the database type you chose" I think I have to associate the two servers.

If someone can help i will give more details

Thanks for the link, but not quite what I was after....my fault for not explaining properly..... Here go’s ... I am running a web server and all I want to know is it possible to send an audio alert to the server (my server) so I will know when someone enters my website. And if so how do I do it

so YOU want to be alerted. im not sure how to do that. but i know html wont do it.
