Hello,

new to site and have read over other similar posts in this forum. We have a site: www.u-roast-em.com that is just not getting ranked by google, or other search engines. I check regularly with google's ranking and we are never in the top 100 for our keywords. I am beginning to think i am just missing out on something here, anyone have advice?

I went to www.submitexpress.com/cgi-bin/analyzer/meta.pl and found a couple things, like how we have too many keywords... these are things i need to know and can change. i just find it confusing when i search for 'green coffee beans' i get 100 sites that have little to do with green coffee beans and our site, which is relevant, is not listed.

one other question. i have sitemaps published but there are only a total of 18 backlinks through google to our site. our site alone has over 40 pages, all linking to others. shouldnt these show up on the backlinks?

I really appreciate your help!
Rachael

How long has your site been up for? Usally there is something called the google "sandbox", meaning that you will not even be processed by google into one of those "O"'s. Luckly though, it just take some time to get out of it. No one really knows exactly how or when. I've seen some site's get out in 4 months, and some in 2 years.
I think though that if you do a good job on seo then the duration of the sandbox is shorter.

If your site is new you should have a patience to index and you should get some good backlinks as well to index soon. You can improve search engine ranking by using right keywords and content optimization. Effective and SEO friendly design sitemap ensures to index in search enignes. :)

Keywords have little to do with search rank these days (mainly due to the way they've been abused). Page content logcially and semantically marked up is more important (along with being linked to by highly ranked pages). For instance, a quick look at your home page shows that you have no H1 or H2 heading elements on your page. These are important as they help show what your page is about.
